Asura Respond Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

About this policy

Asura Respond is an Apple TV app published by Sectiva AS (“Sectiva”, “we”, “us”). It allows authorised users to view live body-worn camera video, audio, alarms and related information from their organisation’s Asura/BWCN platform. An account provided by the organisation is required.

This policy applies specifically to Asura Respond. It supplements the privacy information required from the organisation responsible for the camera system, including information for camera wearers and people appearing in footage. Sectiva’s website and general business activities are covered separately.

Who is responsible

Your organisation determines why and how its camera footage, audio, location and related operational data are used and is the controller of that processing. When Sectiva hosts or otherwise processes this information on your organisation’s behalf, we act as its processor and follow its instructions.

Your organisation’s privacy information explains its purposes, legal bases and retention rules. This policy explains how the app handles that information.

What information the app handles

  • Sign-in information: Your username and password are sent to your organisation’s platform to authenticate you. The app stores sign-in tokens in the Apple TV Keychain so you can remain signed in. It does not store your password.
  • Connection settings: The address of your organisation’s server, stored in the Keychain.
  • Live video and audio: Streams made available through your organisation’s platform. These may include people who do not use the app. The app provides live playback and does not provide recording or export functions. Recordings may be made separately by the cameras or platform.
  • Camera and alarm information: Camera-wearer names, the associated customer, alarm types and times, camera serial numbers, camera and alarm locations, speed, heading, battery level, signal strength and recording status.
  • Fleet information: Counts of cameras checked out, offline or low on battery, by customer.
  • Viewing requests: The alarm you request to view and your user ID, sent to the platform so it can check your access permissions.
  • Display preferences: Settings such as layout, tile count and the details bar, stored on the Apple TV.

How information is used

The app uses this information to sign you in, maintain your session, check access permissions, display streams and operational information, show camera and alarm locations on a map, and remember your display preferences.

Apple Maps

The app uses Apple Maps to display camera and alarm locations. Loading maps involves requests to Apple for the areas displayed. Apple processes those requests under its Maps privacy information.

Advertising, tracking and device access

The app does not display advertising or include advertising tracking, analytics or third-party crash-reporting services. It does not capture video or audio through a camera or microphone on the Apple TV. We do not sell personal data handled through the app or use camera footage, audio or location data for advertising.

Hosting, access and transfers

The app connects to the platform server configured for your organisation. Depending on the deployment, the platform is hosted by Sectiva or by the customer or its chosen provider. App-to-platform connections are encrypted. Apple Maps requests are separate from this connection.

For our current Sectiva-hosted deployments serving EU/EEA customers, platform data is stored in the EU/EEA. Sectiva’s staff and suppliers access these systems only from within the EEA. The particular hosting country depends on the hosting option agreed with the customer.

For customer-hosted deployments, your organisation determines its hosting arrangements. Contact your organisation for details of the hosting country and any international transfers that apply to its deployment. Apple Maps requests are handled separately under Apple’s privacy information linked above.

Service providers acting on Sectiva’s behalf are required to use platform data only for the agreed services and protect it under confidentiality and security obligations.

Retention and deletion

The app saves only sign-in tokens and settings on the Apple TV. Sign-in tokens are kept until you sign out. Connection settings and display preferences remain saved on the device. Contact help@sectiva.com if you need assistance removing saved app settings.

Video, audio, alarms, camera information and statistics are retrieved from the platform for display. The app does not keep a local archive of this operational information.

Signing out does not delete accounts or records held on the platform.

Retention and deletion of server-side information, including location history, alarms, viewing and audit logs, recordings and backups, follow the customer’s instructions. The applicable periods depend on the organisation’s purposes, retention rules and legal obligations. Contact your organisation for the periods and deletion rules that apply to its deployment.

Your rights and privacy requests

Depending on applicable data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and receive a portable copy of certain data. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

For data held in your organisation’s camera platform, contact that organisation. If you appear in footage, contact the organisation responsible for the cameras. If you do not know whom to contact, email help@sectiva.com so we can help identify the appropriate contact. You can also contact us at that address with questions about the app.

You can complain to the relevant data protection authority, including Datatilsynet in Norway.

Children

The app is intended for authorised organisational users and is not directed at children. Camera streams may nevertheless include children. The organisation responsible for the cameras must address their data in its own privacy information and handling of footage.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or its data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
